Through them the HLF funds the full breadth of heritage in the UK, investing in skills and growth, and helping heritage organisations to thrive.  One such programme is the Townscape Heritage programme which awards funding to encourage partnerships of local organisations to carry out repairs and other essential works to a number of historic buildings, structures or spaces to help communities regenerate deprived towns and cities across the UK.
